Mother’s Day: Planting a Kitchen herb garden

A few years ago I had previously spent a weekend with a good friend of mine building A Frame pallet gardens for the WellBatavia Festival.

Now that life has changed quite a bit, they were sitting empty begging for a refresh so I got them out with my sister and decided to use them for a kitchen garden!

Whenever I head down my stairs I can smell the fresh herbs and picking some for a meal is as easy as bounding down the stairs!

I planted peppermint, sage, oregano, lemon balm,, thyme, rosemary, strawberries, celery, parsely and cilantro. Containers like this are great for plants that can travel and get out of hand in a garden bed such as plants in the mint family: lemon balm and peppermint.
